The Credentialing program is one of the most valuable services that Methodist Physician Alliance (MPA) provides the membership. The credentialing program facilitates physician participation in the health plans that are contracted through our organization. MPA has delegated credentialing from our contracted payors. This allows a physician to complete one credentialing application every two years for all MPA payors. This process minimizes duplication of a physician submitting recredentialing applications to all of these payors every two years.

We utilize the 2007 Texas Standardized Credentialing Application. An electronic version of the application can be downloaded from the TDI website.

Methodist Physician Alliance (MPA) uses board certification as threshold criteria for education/training requirements for credentialing and
re-credentialing purposes to meet payor requirements. Practitioners must demonstrate they have either maintained current board certification, or have completed their training within the previous five years and are active candidates making perceptible progress for eventual board certification in their designated specialty or specialties.
